Howdy all y’all fans of Shear Heaven, the #1 salon in Jenkins, Arkansas:

Spring’s almost here in Jenkins so it’s a perfect time for a new style. Here’s the latest updates and important styling news from Shear Heaven. So sorry it’s been a while since my last update but the beautiful ladies in town have kept us hoppin’. Things have sure been hectic around here.

In addition to the fabulous women’s hair styling, coloring, and cutting that Shear Heaven has always been famous for, remember to send your menfolk over to Shear Heaven. My mama and I will fix ‘em right up. Jonas Trout set the trend when he walked in. One of our regulars—who shall remain nameless (but her name rhymes with Belissa)—saw him enter and said “Oh, look at him. He’s a tall glass of water.”

Fortunately he didn’t hear “Belissa” or her cheeks might have caught fire. Despite his family connections, I have to agree with her. I just can’t understand how that Ella Mae could have landed him as a husband. Way back in high school, she was always just so . . . well, probably best not to go into details here. Besides, enough about her. She already caused enough trouble for me and my family with all her “Look at me. I’m a big-deal, out-of-towner returning home” parading around town. Such an attention-seeker.

Back to the Shear Heaven update: We’re also very excited to announce that we’re soon going to offer a tanning bed for those that want to keep that healthy glow even in the middle of winter. We finally cleared out some of the junk in our back storage room. Our new tanning machine arrives soon. More details on pricing and tanning specials coming soon, but we’re taking reservations now!

Remember: Get tanned and don’t forget to tell your husband or boyfriend (or even both of them) the exciting news.

That’s all the blog update for now but I do have a special request. Our sponsor, the author of FISH OUT OF WATER, wants me to ask you to buy his book today. Y’all really should go read it now. We really can use the sponsorship money. Not a big reader myself but I hear tell it’s a fun clean read with lots of twists, town secrets and an ending with a strong right hook. I’ll be sure to add it to my to-do list but just don’t be asking me for any book reports.

FISH OUT OF WATER is the first book in Marc Jedel’s new Ozarks Lake Mystery series. I think it’s pretty cool of him to sponsor our blog. I suppose it makes sense since Jenkins is located right near a lake near the Ozarks! More books are planned with the second book to be titled SWIMMING WITH THE FISHES. Plus, he’s still writing more books in his Silicon Valley Mystery series (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PHNT7XM) or learn more about them here. I haven’t read those either but I hear they’re very funny. That doesn’t surprise me any as them Californians are strange folk, and none stranger than his main character, Marty.
